Planting Hope: AIM Foundation’s Sapling Distribution Drive in Behala, Kolkata

In an inspiring effort to promote environmental awareness and community engagement, AIM Foundation organized a sapling distribution drive in Behala, Kolkata, West Bengal. The event was part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to climate action, sustainability, and greener urban spaces.

As cities like Kolkata face rising pollution levels and rapid urbanization, the need for restoring ecological balance has never been more urgent. Through this initiative, AIM Foundation aimed to not only plant trees but also plant a sense of responsibility and hope within the local community.

Held in collaboration with local volunteers, schools, and neighborhood associations, the event saw the distribution of hundreds of saplings—ranging from fruit-bearing trees to native species ideal for the local climate. Residents were encouraged to take home these young plants, nurture them, and become guardians of green change in their neighborhoods.

The event also featured short awareness sessions on the importance of trees in combating air pollution, improving biodiversity, and addressing climate change. Foundation volunteers shared tips on how to care for the saplings and explained the long-term benefits of community-led greening efforts.

Forest Cleaning Drive from Murti to Chandrachur – A Step Towards a Greener Tomorrow

On January 11, 2021, AIM Foundation, in collaboration with Abasar and the West Bengal Forest Department, launched the “Clean Murti to Chandrachur” campaign—a 5 km forest cleaning drive through the heart of Gorumara National Park in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal.
