AIM Foundation Brings Free Healthcare to Remote Sundarbans Community

 On July 14th, 2019, the AIM Foundation Pashchim Surendranagar, in collaboration with the Department of Forest, Government of West Bengal, organized a free health camp in Pathar Pratima Block, nestled within the Sundarbans region of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. This impactful initiative was aimed at delivering much-needed healthcare services to residents of rural and forest-adjacent communities.


The camp received a remarkable turnout, treating a total of 267 patients. With limited access to medical facilities in this remote area, the health camp became a vital lifeline for many. Residents were offered free consultations with qualified doctors, essential health check-ups, and medicines at no cost.


Key services included general health assessments, blood pressure monitoring, and treatment for minor illnesses. The provision of free medicines ensured that patients could continue their treatment beyond the camp without financial burden.


In addition to medical care, the event also raised awareness about common health challenges specific to forest-edge communities. By encouraging early diagnosis and preventive practices, the initiative empowered locals to take proactive steps toward their health.


This successful health camp stands as a testament to AIM Foundation’s dedication to bridging healthcare gaps and uplifting the well-being of underserved populations in West Bengal.
